Intelligent horizontal and vertical 180° heel release is at the heart of the new Protector EVO PR 11 GW binding. Its innovative Full Heel Release (FHR) technology, incorporated into the updated heel, promises outstanding safety by significantly lowering release forces in forward and especially backward twisting falls. This significantly reduces knee loading for safer skiing and helps reduce and mitigate knee injuries, with maximum safety in forward and backward twisting falls. FHR can reduce ACL strain by more than 50%*, based on finite element model simulations by the University of Innsbruck, “Lateral Heel Release Reduces ACL strain in Simulated Backward Twisting Falls.” At the toe, the new VX Toe combines an updated design with maximum safety through new BTR kinematics and offers TYROLIA safety features including BTR, AFS and Full Diagonal Toe. BTR maintains constant release values in backward twisting falls by compensating for friction through two different release characteristics based on vertical load. As the toe wings are pressed upward in a backward twisting fall, they move to a new hinge point; the altered lever arm offsets increased forces to keep release behavior consistent. TYROLIA’s TRP - Roller Pincer Toe System uses four rollers for 180° release and exact boot centering, reducing loads on knees and ligaments while considerably improving performance. TYROLIA Full Diagonal Release provides intelligent horizontal and vertical 180° release, while the TYROLIA AFS - Anti Friction Slider combines secure boot release with rapid, exact re-centering for better safety and reliability. Listed components include TX BTR Toe, Full Diagonal, PowerRail and HR EVO Heel. Built on PowerRail technology, the binding works with all skis featuring a pre-mounted PR Base and accommodates all Alpine ski boots (ISO 5355 TYPE A) and all GripWalk ski boots (ISO 23223 TYPE A).
