Built for backcountry Nordic outings on narrow to mid-width touring skis, the BC X5 combines lightweight touring mobility with off-trail control. Its insulated polyester lining uses 3M Thinsulate™ to retain heat in cold, damp conditions, and the thermo-adjustable liner can be heat-molded around the foot for a customized, comfortable fit. Underfoot, the wide Rottefella Nordic BC sole, identified as NNN BC, has a wider rotation axle and provides stability and control on wider skis across varied snow conditions. The hinged external Mobile Cuff balances fore/aft movement with torsional rigidity; the upper cuff is specified as 3D injection High Cuff free support, and the heel has external 3D plastic reinforcement. Closure details include a metallic hook, adjustable Velcro strap and laces, with the SPEED LACE LOCK system described as a rapid, easy closure for added support and precision.
