As the final layer in a layering system, it manages your microclimate by moving moisture outward and deflecting rain, wind, and snow. Deep front pockets keep maps, gloves, and other essentials close at hand, while underarm venting releases heat quickly on steeper climbs. Freedom of movement comes from articulated sleeves; the hood is optimized for head movement and visibility and features two-way adjustment, concealed internal cord locks, and single-handed adjustment, while its wired, stiffened peak can be cinched to shut out the worst weather. The garment uses 100% recycled, 3-layer Gore-tex with a solution dyed backer fabric, a lower-impact construction that uses less energy and water than traditional fabric dyeing without sacrificing quality or performance, plus 100% Gore-tex Pro seam tape throughout. Two external hand pockets and full-venting pit zips use YKK® AquaGuard zips, the YKK® AquaGuard centre front zip has a fleece-lined chin guard for comfort, and the cuffs and dual-sided rear hem offer hook-and-loop and single-handed adjustment.
