NOMIC Ice climbing ice ax The NOMIC ice ax is the benchmark for ice climbing. Perfectly balanced, equipped with weights, it provides an exceptional swing. The PUR'ICE blade provides effective anchoring in all types of ice. The geometry of the ice ax and the double handle offer several gripping modes, as well as stable hand changes. The grip is comfortable, thanks to the ergonomics of the handle and the adjustable GRIPREST wedge. Equipped with a minimalist hammer, the head is protected and allows to re-type a piton. Fully modular, the ice ax can be optimized according to the course.

Construction

Anchoring efficiency whatever the type of ice:
- perfect geometry and balance of the ice ax providing an exceptional swing,
- easy hooking, thanks to the curve under the head,
- PUR'ICE blade, refined at the end (3 mm), offering a excellent penetration in all ice, including the hardest ice. Notched on the upper part, it provides stable support when the ice ax is turned over,
- optimized inertia and quality of strike, thanks to MASSELOTTES.
Comfortable
grip , suitable for technical ice climbing: - multiple grip modes and stable hand changes, thanks to the double handle (high and low),
- offset low handle to protect the hand from contact with the ice and provide more of comfort in suspension,
- high overmolded handle and bi-material providing an excellent grip, while insulating from the cold,
- hydroformed handle for an optimal grip in the middle of the sleeve.
Modular construction:
- fully modular head allowing to adapt the technicality of the ice ax,
- compatible with Petzl accessories: ICE, DRY, PUR'DRY, PANNE, HAMMER,
- supplied with MINI HAMMER to protect the head of the ice ax and retype pitons ,
- devoid of accessories, the ice ax becomes lighter for the practice of dry tooling (only 500 g),
- GRIPREST NOMIC support block overmolded and adjustable in three positions to adapt to all hand sizes, including with heavy gloves. The lower part has a toothed stainless steel tip to improve support when the ice ax is used as an ice ax,
- connection hole compatible with the V-LINK extensible anti-loss strap.
