A flexible, woven, laser-cut material lets the DART follow irregular punctures left by the sharp, jagged edges of debris and obstacles on trails, roads, and paths. Its reactive treatment bonds with liquid sealant inside a tubeless tire, creating a permanent chemical and mechanical seal for punctures and slices that sealant alone cannot close. Supplied with two DARTs, the molded plastic tool weighs 15-grams and fits in a small pack pocket, while clear caps keep the DARTs clean and unscrew for quick use. Refills are sold separately. A molded Presta valve core remover at the base helps with in-the-field sealant topoffs using a 60ml or 120ml bottle of Stan’s Original Tubeless Sealant. This bicycle-specific approach began in 2019, when Stan’s introduced the Dual Action Repair for Tubeless (DART) Tool and the first repair plug designed specifically for tubeless bicycle tires, not a scaled-down automotive or motorcycle plug. Refinements throughout the original tool’s lifespan produced an improved DART and the 2025 rerelease as the Original DART Tool, featuring an updated stainless steel insertion rod.
