UIAA certification accompanies a choice of standard shovel or hoe mode: the unique handle allows either setup for digging test pits or rapid snow removal, with easy conversion at the same attachment point for snow removal and excavation. Blade lead-ins make assembly and mode changes quick. For professional use, the Evac 9 has a larger blade volume and a longer handle. Its large, durable anodized blade moves substantial amounts of snow quickly, while the flat-bottom profile helps produce a clean pit wall. Long days digging multiple pits are more comfortable with the modified large D handle, which also speeds emergency digging; the updated extendable, telescoping shaft eliminates jamming in the field. The patent-pending HALFcamber™️ design includes camber underfoot on 60% of the deck.
