NO. 07 BOUT ROND - VERT My first Opinel is the knife for little adventurers, little handymen, little gourmets! It allows you to learn how to spread after a walk in the mountains, to carve sticks or to start a hut in the trees of the nearby forest. Nevertheless, it remains a good quality knife. Specially designed for children , it has an 8cm blade with a round tip, a varnished red handle to protect it from dirt and moisture. The safety ring allows the user to lock the blade in the open or closed position. A great childhood memory.

Construction | Blade Length 8cm Sandvik 12C27M Stainless Steel Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment which gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which provides a very satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC. Round tip blade The end of the blade is rounded to provide greater safety of use. It is also an ideal blade for spreading. Handle The charm comes from French farms. It is a white wood with little grain, ideal for applying colors without distorting them. The handle is varnished to be better protected against moisture and dirt. Safety Ring Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring equips all folding knives from N06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (security of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (security of transport). |
